CCTV Business Manager – IT Distribution Commercial

Overview

Our Client, a highly-regarded IT Distributor in the Thames Valley is recruiting for a CCTV Business Manager. As the CCTV Business Manager, you will be responsible for developing this key strategic relationship, managing the product portfolio, negotiating commercial terms, including price and promotional support, and gaining buy in from key internal stakeholders to support the purchase and sale of these products.

In addition, a good understanding of the products and relevant markets is required in order to support the sales function.  As the ideal candidate, you will have 3rd party logistics and retail experience as this role requires management of these two very different business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with key personnel within the Vendor(s) to become the key commercial conduit between both parties
  • Assisting all relevant sales/commercial teams with tools, promotions/incentives, quotations and product queries in order to maximise and drive sales
  • Demonstrating strong negotiation skills to ensure the organisation has the strongest product offering / prices and commercial terms
  • Developing business plans based on key performance indicators such as Gross Profit, Stock Levels, Aged Stock and Rebates in partnership with the General Manager
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with relevant Product Specialists to ensure all promotions / product launches are to a high standard
  • Providing accurate information and additional support to Sales where necessary
  • Monitoring and managing stock levels in line with operational targets
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders including Commercial, Marketing and Purchasing
  • Liaising with Sales Managers to ensure product offering remains competitive and relevant to their needs
  • Reporting on sales activity, stock levels and marketing spend to the Vendor(s), and internal stake holders
  • Demonstrating expert product knowledge and keeping up to date with new technologies and developments in the market they operate in
  • Anticipating and reacting to fluctuations and trends within the market and their impact on business

 

Essential Requirements

  • Experience as a Business Manager / Product Manager in a similar environment
  • Ability to communicate with and influence key stakeholders, individuals and groups at all levels
  • Proven experience of successfully negotiating and building relationships with suppliers
  • The ability to recognise and focus on the key issues
  • Organisation skills – able to plan and prioritise own time and be self- motivated
  • An interest in the products in the area of responsibility
  • Willingness to travel as required
