IT Reseller Business Development Manager – IT Vendor Sales & Business Development

The Opportunity

As the IT Reseller Business Development Manager, you’ll be working for a Global Power Management organisation. With 95,000 employees worldwide and nearing $20bn in global revenues, this is a great organisaton to join if you’re looking for a challenging role that has long-term career opportunities.

You’ll be joining the IT Channel sales team, where you’ll be responsible for managing and developing an agreed number of Reseller partners. As the Business Development Manager, you’ll be accustomed to owning a sales target and coordinating a combined sales effort. We are looking for a dynamic and self-driven sales professional who would benefit from a good working knowledge of IT Channel structures and routes to market, ideally with previous experience of Power Management technologies.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Meet / exceed sales revenue targets, working as a key member of the IT Channel sales team
  • Establish, develop and maintain principal relationship with all nominated accounts and grow sales in line with target goals
  • Develop and implement sales plans with each account to include, but not limited to, revenue targets and marketing activities
  • Provide support to customers on all aspects relating to the sales process
  • Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities. Communicate such information to Sales Management and Product Management
  • Support and leverage other channel efforts, marketing, product launches and product promotions as well as certifications and specializations
  • Maintain a cooperative and credible working relationship with other company personnel to assure customer satisfaction
  • Produce & maintain accurate data on customer contacts, activities & performance and provide regular feedback to management as required
  • Implement new product programs as needed
  • Collect, analyse and utilize market intelligence data on competitive products, customer needs, preferences and buying habits
  • Attend trade and end user events to represent the organisation and/or present our solutions to both partners and end users

 

Essential Requirements

  • In depth and successful experience in selling technology products and services via the UK IT Channel
  • Understanding of the IT Distribution / Reseller / End User channel, the interactive relationships between each level and the differing “go to market” strategies
  • Previous business development, prospecting experience from within the IT Channel
  • Development and execution of channel sales strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-confidence, gravitas, and the impact to quickly earn respect at all levels
  • Proactive work style; ability to take the initiative and work well within a busy vibrant sales environment

 

Ideal Requirements

  • A successful period in a similar role working for a Power Management Vendor
  • A previous IT Channel Business Development role managing System Integration partners
