Senior Sales Manager – IT Vendor Sales & Business Development

You’ll be working as the Senior Sales Manager (Monitor), working closely with corporate accounts on a direct or indirect basis through channel and retail. As the Senior Sales Manager you’ll be responsible for a team of Account Managers, managing DMR, VAR and Retail.

Key responsibilities

  • Ownership and management of the total IT Sales business
  • Ensure sales forecasts and sales targets are achieved
  • Management, coaching & mentoring of any direct report(s) to deliver optimum performance
  • Develop all customer contacts (corporate, end user and channel)
  • Identify opportunities to develop its IT sales
  • Formulate and agree product and promotional business plans for customers
  • Negotiate pricing and promotional opportunities within the accounts
  • Maintain high levels of awareness of market and competitor activity and report all aspects of business to all relevant departments
  • Work within set guidelines in all areas of pricing, expenses and planning processes
  • Develop good working relationships with all internal depts. including Marketing, Product Management, Sales Administration, Customer service, Logistics, Credit Control and Finance
  • Fully understand all relevant Corporate business and product strategies
  • Fully understand the product range ensuring a high level of product knowledge in terms of features and benefits
  • Maintain customer records including up-to-date account contacts, product listings and pricing
  • Carry out regular analysis of market data, account sales in and sales out data to fully understand trends within the category
  • Play an active and positive role in the Sales team within all meetings
  • Follow all procedures on product quotations, trading terms, promotional budgets and all other administrative activities
  • Effectively manage, with accurate records, all areas of expenditure including promotional budgets, day to day expenses etc

 

Skills & Experience

  • Previous people management experience
  • Organisation skills – able to plan and prioritise own time and that of others
  • Strong business acumen and decision making process
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience with previous experience in a customer facing role
  • Ability to communicate with and influence key stakeholders, individuals and groups at all levels
  • Proven experience of successfully negotiating and building relationships with Customers
